Circular of the Director-General of Immigration No. IMI-0702.GR.01.01 of 2022 on Immigration Policies to Simplify Bureaucracy and Simplify and Accelerate Stay Permit Services to Support Policies Aimed at Increasing Foreign Investment in the Country

- The heads of immigration offices should: 1) Receive applications for immigration stay permit services that are submitted online via the online stay permit application or through walk-ins at the immigration office; 2) Verify the completeness of the requirements on the same day that applications are received; 3) Reject and return application files to foreign citizens, guarantors or persons in charge on the same day that applications are received by the relevant immigration office on a walk-in basis with proof of return.
- Immigration stay permits that do not require the approval of the Director-General should be issued through the following procedure: 1) The identification and verification of data and collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data should be completed within a maximum period of two business days; 2) Applications for immigration stay permit services should be processed within a maximum period of two business days from the date of any identification and verification of data and collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data; 3) If applications for immigration stay permit services do not require the identification and verification of data or collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data then application processes for immigration stay permit services should be completed within a maximum period of two business days from the date of payment of the relevant immigration fees.
- The issuance of immigration stay permits that require the Director-General’s approval should be completed through the following procedure: 1) The identification and verification of data and the collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data should be completed within a maximum period of two business days from the date of payment of the relevant immigration fees; 2) Deliveries of application letters in order to be approved electronically by the Director-General through the immigration management information system (“Information System”) should be completed on the same day as of the identification and verification of data and collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data; 3) If applications for the immigration stay permit service does not require the identification and verification of data or any collection of photos, fingerprints and biometric data, then the electronic delivery of the Director-General’s approval application letter through the Information System should be completed within a maximum period of two business days from the date of payment of the relevant immigration fees; 4) Applications for immigration stay permit services should be completed within a maximum period of one business day from the date that the relevant decision of the Director-General is received electronically through the Information System as part of the flow of stages implemented through the immigration office.
