Regulation of the President No. 112 of 2022 on the Acceleration of the Development of Renewable Energy for the Supply of Electrical Power
Enforcement Date: 13 September 2022
- In order to effect an energy transition within Indonesian, the termination of the operational periods of coal-fired, steam power plants (pembangkit listrik tenaga uap – “PLTU”) will be accelerated, while the development of new PLTU will be halted, with exception of PLTU that meet certain criteria.
- PT PLN (Persero) is required to prioritize purchases of electrical power from power plants that utilize renewable sources of energy, which may be entirely owned by business entities or partially/entirely owned by the government.
- The purchase prices and purchase mechanisms that apply in relation to the power purchase transactions outlined above differ based on power-plant ownership.
